Scenes from Meg's desk...again
When I get busy you get pictures of my desk. Deal with it. Though as I think about this, about how part of what this project is is a photographic record of my life...perhaps I spend too much time here.

Saved by the shell
Ran out of white-ish food items for this series I had going. I've been a bit busy the last few days and tonight was no exception, so I didn't have time to come up with something totally new, and was luckily saved by this shell brought back from Florida by my dad from a recent visit to his sister. Technically brought back for Josie, who generously gave me permission to photograph it, as long as I put it back where I found it. Sheesh, who's the mom here?

Layers
I'm having quite a lot of fun with this impromptu series of monochromatic kitchen finds...figure I'll keep it going for a least one more night.

Bulbs
Ah the interesting things one finds at the bottom of that bowl of potatoes and onions on the counter.

Art work
It definitely helps at the end of a long day to have a finished product to show for it. Letting Jo take most of the credit though. :) She did kick some butt, deserves first billing I think.

Study buddy
Josie, trying very hard to remember when the Erie Canal was built. Well, actually, pretending to try to remember when the Erie Canal was built, my girl got this. History test, watch out!

Portrait inspiration
Inspired by Neil's unconventional portrait of Sarah I decided to try a self portrait with what is traditionally the most important part of a portrait, the eyes, left out. As always there were the usual challenges with shooting ones self, so this shot is not in perfect focus. Which made it REALLY hard to chose this one...but it was the best moment captured, the most natural (was going for how I normally sit and stare at my screen when working). I think maybe it is good for me to branch out a little from just what makes a technically good photograph anyway. And perhaps the soft focus is helpful when so close to a subject.
